Across all local community sporting clubs, parents and friends volunteering as trainers, team managers & coaches are the heartbeat of most clubs to ensure training and game day participation for all athletes.
Educating these volunteers to ensure they have a level of knowledge and comfort in making best decisions to support the athletes is a cornerstone of Physioworks Health Group commitment to our local communities.
Recently, the Physioworks Health Group Camberwell team spent time down at the Ashy Redbacks Junior Football Club educating some of those volunteers with an interactive Injury Prevention & Management Training seminar – helping the club trainers & team managers to best support the girls & boys should injury occur on the footy field.
At the education session, the Physioworks Camberwell team – David Francis, Andrew Dalwood, Brad Fernihough, Hugh Basset and Pip Savvides – discussed key injury issues – from concussion concerns to taping techniques, from knee, hand and ankle injuries to running & landing techniques to pre-game warm-up & post-game recovery.
A big well done & thank-you from all the team at Physioworks to all those parents and friends volunteering as trainers, team managers & coaches at all local community sporting clubs. The game simply does not happen without you!!
