Education in Injury Prevention and Management of parents, trainers and coaches is pivotal to our support of local community football/netball leagues and clubs to ensure the welfare of all players during the winter sports season.
Across all our clinics, Physioworks Health Group have delivered a series of educational nights to ensure best training and game day injury support and management of players.
Topics range from the correct taping method of players and pre-game warm ups to applying icepacks; assessment of concession and post-game injury management.
Conducted by our Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology team members these ongoing education sessions form an important part of our community engagement support programs.
Some of the educational sessions include guest presenters, such as Collingwood Mid-Field Coach Scott Burns, who discuss strategies from both a game plan and player management/welfare perspective.
All football and netball education sessions in 2016 have well attended by coaches, trainers, support crew and parents, including:
- Ashy Redbacks Junior Football Club (YJFL) – Physioworks Health Group Camberwell
