Physioworks Health Group supports Tradies National Health Month, an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) awareness initiative, focussed on the importance of tradies health.
Now in its 12th year, the APA campaign continues to raise awareness of the health care challenges facing our community of tradies.
A recent 2024 survey* of tradies, from across Australia, has revealed the following challenges faced by them in the past year:
- Over 90% of tradies experienced work-related injuries or pain in the past year, with 90% of these injuries caused or worsened by work.
- 76% reported pain significantly impacts their quality of life.
- 42% described their pain as severe, with some suffering for months or even years.
- 87% medicate or self-medicate to manage their pain, with 30% resorting to drugs or alcohol.
- 24% fear they will need to retire early due to stress on their bodies.
The good news is that nearly two-thirds of tradies who have seen a physiotherapist reported significant pain reduction or eradication*.
The highly experienced physiotherapy team at Physioworks Health Group can assist.
Our team can assist with treatment & management of a specific condition and/or those ongoing aches & pains, providing ongoing health care advice for tradies to help keep them pain free and “on the tools”.
